Interests

Read more about my interests in teaching, research and collaboration.

I teach at GIH in the following areas:

  • Scientific theory and research methodology
  • Student essay writing
  • Ethics in research and sport contexts
  • Sociology of sport
  • Social sustainability in sport
  • Organisation and leadership in sport
  • Sport and communication

In addition to my teaching, I lecture in and outside of academia on themes related to my research area.

My research primarily focuses on safe and unsafe sports, with a particular emphasis on sexual harassment, abuse, and the grey areas surrounding these issues. I am interested in the cultures and relationships within sports that can both enable abuse and promote safeguarding and social agency. This includes the coach-athlete relationship, where dynamics of power, trust, and dependency are crucial for both well-being and sports performance.

Through my work, I am also invested in bridging the gap between research, sports policy, and practice – especially in relation to safeguarding, ethics, and social sustainability in sports.

Additionally, I am a member of Research in Education and Movement Culture (REMO), an interdisciplinary research group that explores movement, culture, and society from humanities and social science perspectives.

Collaborates with the sports movement in Sweden, participates in research collaborations and with other assignments and actors.
