The future doctoral thesis aims to investigate how and why adolescents in 15-year-olds participate in and how they perceive physical education culture. The study also intends to investigate the contextual importance of digital technologies and socioeconomic factors for young people's participation. The aim of the thesis is to create a greater understanding of how young people act and reflect on these issues.
The thesis will consist of two sub-studies: an interview study that is planned to be conducted in the autumn of 2023 and a larger survey study that is planned to be conducted in the spring of 2024.
I am also a participant in the research group Research in Education & Movement Culture, which is an interdisciplinary research group that conducts research in the humanities and social sciences on movement, culture and society.
