Are you interested in sports and health? Your career starts at GIH, Sweden’s top center for knowledge in sports, physical activity and health.

Here you can become a teacher in physical education, sport coach, sport manager or sports and health scientist. We offer complete programs as well as single subject courses on basic, advanced or research level.

The Swedish School of Sport and Health Sciences, GIH, conducts nationally leading and internationally respected research in the field of sports, physical activity and health.


At GIH, both basic research and practical research are conducted, often in connection with education and collaboration.

Founded in 1813, GIH is the top Swedish centre of knowledge within sports, physical activity and health.

We are situated next to the beautiful arena Stockholms Stadion from 1912.

Study at GIHExchange studies

The Swedish School of Sport and Health Sciences, GIH, currently holds partnership agreements with several European universities, through the Erasmus+-program.

International engagement is important to GIH and each semester we welcome exchange students from our partner universities to study one or two semesters at GIH in Stockholm.

For exchange studies, courses in English may be available, but vary for each semester. The courses offered are subject to agreement and availability. Additional information will be provided upon applying
