Interests
Read more about my interests in teaching, research and collaboration.
I teach mainly within the teacher education program with a focus on teaching, learning and assessment as well as independent projects. Since the government's investment in the Teacher Lift, I have been responsible for the courses that GIH has been commissioned to conduct. My teaching efforts have mainly concerned sports didactics as well as grades and assessment. I also teach at advanced and postgraduate level.
My area of interest lies in sports pedagogy and sports didactic research. My particular interest concerns both issues in teacher education and the school's physical education subject – physical education and health as well as the leisure leadership education. Above all, I am passionate about issues related to knowledge and learning.
An ongoing research project is "Video games as health education – about exergaming and young people's learning about the body, physical activity and health". This project is carried out in collaboration with researchers at Örebro University and Uppsala University. Principal investigator is Mikael Quennerstedt at Örebro University.
Jane Salier Eriksson's thesis "The heart rate method for estimating oxygen uptake in walking and cycle commuting" aims to evaluate whether heart rate measurements can be used as a method to assess oxygen uptake levels in everyday activities, such as cycling or walking to work.
I am a member of the steering committee for the National Graduate School in Sport Science (NFI), a collaborative project between the University of Gothenburg, Karlstad University, Malmö University, Linnaeus University and GIH.
The Graduate School in Sport and Health Education (FIHD) is a collaborative project between GIH (principal investigator), Örebro University and Malmö University. 15 teachers in physical education and health are studying for a licentiate degree where five teachers are resident at each university. I am a member of the steering committee for the graduate school.
In Stockholm, there is collaboration between all teacher education providers and parallel collaboration processes are taking place in this work. I am a member of a steering group that both manages and protects the joint VFU agreement that exists between municipalities and teacher education.
The Teacher Education Convention is a collaborative group of all the country's teacher education coordinators in which I represent GIH.
