Interests

Read more about my interests in teaching and research.

My teaching interests are in sport as a social phenomenon, which includes historical perspectives on the development of sport over time, and touches on themes such as professionalization, academization and gender issues in a more contemporary context.

In addition to this, I like to teach theory of science and scientific method, as well as supervise theses at undergraduate and graduate level.

In 2022, I defended my dissertation on the cultural heritage of Swedish sports, in which I investigated how Swedish sports museums portray sports history from perspectives such as class, gender, nation and generation.

After defending my thesis, I have remained in the field of cultural heritage and published new research. Among other things, I have studied power relations in connection with the establishment of an ice hockey museum in Örnsköldsvik, and made an in-depth effort to describe and analyze the Swedish sport's handling of cultural heritage from a historical perspective.

Currently, I am a researcher in the research association Mistra Sports and Outdoors, where I am conducting a project that investigates the conditions for managing the cultural heritage of sport in an ecologically sustainable way.

Other research interests are in, for example, ice hockey, where I have previously researched the professionalization of ice hockey's material managers and am currently running a project on Swedish women's ice hockey from a modern historical perspective.
