Interests
Read more about my interests in research and collaboration.
My research area is in sports medicine and is primarily about acute injuries in sports with a focus on how to prevent injuries.
The thesis "Acute sports injuries and their possible prevention – an epidemiological study using insurance data" contains a survey and knowledge about sports injuries, and is needed to be able to prevent more from occurring. In my thesis, I have analysed the prevalence of acute injuries in different sports. The data is based on the sports injuries reported to the insurance company Folksam regarding licensed athletes of all ages and levels.
In collaboration with the insurance company Folksam, I have conducted tests to evaluate the safety of different ski helmets. One in ten people who are injured on Swedish ski slopes suffer a head injury, and then the choice of helmet can be crucial to avoid head and brain injuries.
