Interests

Read more about my interests in research.

My thesis is part of a graduate school aimed at teacher educators who have not yet received their doctorate degree The aim is to increase the research connection between teacher education and Physical Education and Health (PEH).

The thesis aims to shed light on yoga as a slow practice from different angles, to understand the meaning of participating in it, learning to teach it, and de facto teaching it.

The thesis consists of three empirical sub-studies:

1. To participate in teaching.

The first sub-study involves exploring people's experiences of participating in yoga teaching and possible indications of resonant experiences (or lack of resonance) in yoga practice. What educational considerations does the yoga teacher need to make for experiences of resonance to occur?

2. Learning to teach.

The second sub-study is conducted with Physical Education Teacher Students (PETE). Using a regional lifeworld approach, the study aims to investigate how Physical Education Teacher Education (PETE) students experienced their participation in a YBP didactics unit when it was included in the PETE program. What thoughts, feelings, and bodily sensations were evoked in the students as they explored YBP and their prospects for teaching it themselves?

3. To teach

The third sub-study explores how teachers of Physical Education and Health (PEH) in six upper secondary schools understand the meaning of teaching Slow Movement Practices (SMP). What pedagogical considerations do teachers make to stimulate students' learning process in slow-movement practices (SMP)?

I participate in the research group Research in Education & Movement Culture, an interdisciplinary research group that conducts research in the humanities and social sciences on movement, culture, and society.
