Interests

Read more about my interests in research.

My great interest lies in interdisciplinary research fields, from micro to macro perspectives, where public health and sports science meet.

Since 2020, I am a PhD student in the "Brain Health in School" project where I study the implementation and promotion of physical activity among young people in a school context, outside of the physical education subject.

During 2018–2020, I have worked as a research assistant in several research projects:

  • FitForAge, which studies the effect of yoga and cardio exercise on the well-being of the elderly, Karolinska Institutet 2020.
  • "Physical activity and brain health" sub-project 2 "Activity-based offices - implementation and evaluation of the activity-based office", GIH 2019–2020.
  • FitForChange studying yoga and cardio training for alcohol use disorder, Center for Psychiatry Research, Karolinska Institutet 2018.

I am also a participant in the research group Research in Education & Movement Culture, which is an interdisciplinary research group that conducts research in the humanities and social sciences on movement, culture and society.

Other information

Health and movement have always been an interest of mine for as long as I can remember. I have a background in dance and equestrian sports, but I have always had a curious mind and wanted to try most things.

In recent years, I have mainly devoted myself to yoga, both my own practice and teaching, but also to study the subject from a scientific perspective.

My research interest and passion for yoga meet in popular science texts I write in several forums, including the book "Yoga, science and facts – why it works" published by Bonnier Fakta.

Educations (in addition to academic) I have are lic. PT and yoga teacher (E-RYT 500)
