Interests

Read more about my interests in research and collaboration.

I am interested in the relationship between physical activity, health and sustainability. My doctoral project aims to understand more about how different environmental factors, such as greenery, noise and topography, affects our propensity to walk in general and to commute by foot in particular. Slightly simplified, I examine "push and pull factors" in relation to active commuting and the physical environment. Another area that interests me is related to how our cognitive function is affected by physical activity.

During the fall semester of 2022, I was a visiting scholar at the Center for Geospatial Analytics, North Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC and at the Urban Health Collaborative, Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA. I am also collaborating with researchers from University of Queensland, Brisbane.
