Interests

Read more about my interests in research.

I have an interest in physical activity and other lifestyle habits in the prevention and treatment of disease. I have worked for several years as a physiotherapist with patients with heart disease, and my postdoctoral position is focused on studying changes in physical activity levels before and after heart disease and how this may be associated with different health outcomes. The studies are based on large existing databases (e.g. the Health Profile Institute, HPI), national registries (e.g. SWEDEHEART and the Patient Registry) and accelerometer-based data.

In February 2020, I defended my doctoral thesis "Physical activity among patients with cardiovascular disease – a predictor of hospital care utilisation and mortality in clinical work".

The thesis was about physical activity for people affected by heart disease and consisted of three parts that describe how health care consumption and death vary with the degree of physical activity before and after the onset of the disease. One study studies how health care professionals work with lifestyle habits as part of the treatment of individuals with heart disease.
