Lending policies and fees
By registering as a patron, you agree to comply with the library's lending rules.
This applies to loans
As a patron you need to ensure that you keep yourself informed of the current lending policies. You also commit yourself to abide by the rules of conduct and other instructions communicated by the GIH Library, such as:
- Return or renew loans on time.
- Report a change of address or phone number to the library.
- To be personally liable for the loans and to compensate them in the event of loss or damage.
The loan period is 28 days for regular books that are not course literature at GIH. After that, automatic renewals are made as long as no one is on the waiting list, but for a maximum of 2 years.
Special rules apply to the course literature , which has a 7-day loan period and a late fee of SEK 20 per overdue book and day. Automatic renewals are made as long as no one is on the waiting list, but a maximum of 6 months. Only GIH students can borrow course literature.
Self-service machine and web catalogue
You can borrow and return books in our self-service machine. You can renew loans and reserve books in the library's web catalogue
External link, opens in new window.. To do this, use your social security number and a four-digit pin code.
Contact the library if you want to use a different number instead of a personal identity number.
Notifications from the library
Collection letters and notifications from the library are sent out by email to the email address you have provided.
Prints
GIH students have a printing account from which printouts and copies are deducted. You can buy more printouts in the library or the caretaker's office. It is not possible to recover money from the printing account.
Processing of personal data
In order to give you access to the GIH Library's resources, we need to process your personal data (name, address, social security number, telephone number and email address).
