Collect reserved books
In the library's reservation cabinet, you can retrieve and borrow your reserved books during all times when GIH is open, also when the library is unmanned.
When your book has arrived
You will recieve an e-mail when your reserved book is ready for pick-up from the reservation cabinet on level 4, next to the stairs up to the restaurant area. Please note the date in the email about how long the books remain in the cabinet.
To pick up your book, log in with your social security number and pin code.
New patron
If you have not borrowed books from the GIH Library before, you must first come to the library during our staffing hours and show identification. After that, you can pick up your book in the reservation cabinet.
Interlibrary loans
Interlibrary loans from other libraries cannot be picked up in the reservation cabinet. Instead, you can pick up the book at the library's information desk when it is staffed.
This is how the reservation cabinet works
Here's how:
- Tap the reservation locker screen to get started.
- Select "Sign in".
- Log in with your social security number, 10 digits (YYMMDDXXXX), and pin code. That is, the same information as when you borrow or reserve books at the library.
- Select the books you want to borrow. You must pick up all the books that are in the same compartment. Your compartment will open when you press "Borrow selected".
- Take your books out of the tray and close it. The books are now on loan to you.
- Select "Exit".
- Select if you want a receipt with the return date printed. The receipt comes in the slot under the screen.
If you are going to pick up the books the same day they have arrived, they are available at the library's information desk. The books are placed in the bins after the library becomes unmanned in the afternoon.
