DiVA registration of student thesis

Student thesis written by GIH students at undergraduate and graduate level must be entered in the publication database DiVA. You register your thesis in DiVA when it has been approved and completed.

How to register your student thesis in DiVA

2. Go to DiVA's registration form

First, you need to answer a few questions about personal data and images in your thesis.

3. Log in to the DiVA form

Log in with your GIH username and password.

If you do not have a GIH login, please contact the library to get a guest login.

4. Register your thesis in DiVA

In the DiVA form, you fill in information about your thesis. Finish by uploading the thesis PDF.

5. Upload PDF

To be able to upload your student thesis to DiVA, you must have saved it in PDF format.

By registering your work in DiVA, you agree to electronic publication of the work on the internet.

If you do not want the work to be available on the web, you must raise the issue with your examiner.

6. What happens next?

Once you have submitted your thesis in DiVA, you can get your credits for the course. The library notifies your examiner that the thesis has been entered and the examiner then reports the grade in Ladok.

Your thesis will be searchable in DiVA External link, opens in new window. and Uppsatser.se External link, opens in new window.. It may take a few days. It will also be searchable through search engines such as Google, but it may take longer.

GIH's master thesis and doctoral theses are uploaded to the database ProQuest Dissertations & Theses (PQDT) External link, opens in new window.

For you as the author, the agreement means increased visibility for your master's thesis.

Thesis whose pdf has received an embargo period in DiVA in order to be published as articles are not posted in PQDT until the embargo period has expired.

If you do not want your thesis to appear in PQDT, you can contact them via disspub@proquest.com and ask to have it removed. PQDT will then remove any full text but if possible retain metadata about the thesis to inform of its existence.

PQDT also offers users the option to purchase a pdf file through them. As an author, you are entitled to a royalty on any sales, provided you contact PQDT via disspub@proquest.com and set up an account.
