On March 22, Dan Andersson defends his thesis “Exploring Perceptions of Route Environments in Relation to Walking.”

The doctoral thesis

In his doctoral project, Dan Andersson has examined how various environmental variables, such as greenery, noise, and aesthetics, are perceived by those who commute on foot in Greater Stockholm. These experiences have, in turn, been analyzed about whether the walking routes are appraised as hindering or stimulating for walking and unsafe or safe about traffic.
