Lunch seminar about science in motion – mechanisms underlying adaptations to exercise

Professor Carl Johan Sundberg has long been a leader in Swedish sports physiology and has deepened our understanding of how the body adapts to exercise, as well as contributing to highlighting the importance of physical activity in society. During this lunch seminar at GIH, Carl Johan shares his knowledge and experience.

A prominent researcher

Professor Carl Johan Sundberg was this year appointed honorary member of the section for sports physiology within the Swedish Association for Physical Activity and Sports Medicine, SFAIM. Carl Johan has, with his tireless work, not only generated and disseminated knowledge, but also influenced society and politics to make visible the positive effects of exercise and physical activity. He has contributed with groundbreaking research of the highest quality, where he has tested and developed new methods in muscle physiology and sports physiology at an early stage.

As an honorary member, you hold a lecture or workshop in your field.

An association in sports medicine

The Section for Sports Physiology within SFAIM is a nationwide association for individuals with a strong interest in sports physiology. SFAIM, the Swedish Association for Physical Activity and Sports Medicine, is a sports medicine interest association in subjects spanning traumatology, medicine, physiology, prevention and rehabilitation. Elin Ekblom Bak, professor and director of studies at GIH, is vice chair of the section.
