Doctoral thesis defence Karin Kjellenberg

On December 6 at 9.00 am, Karin Kjellenberg will defence her thesis "Physical activity, fitness, screen time and healthy brain function in adolescents".

In the thesis, Karin Kjellenberg has been investigating the relationships between accelerometer-measured physical activity, sports participation, fitness, screen time, and brain health (mental health, cognitive, and academic performance) in a cohort of Swedish youth.

In addition, the thesis aimed to investigate physiological factors that may be the basis for acute cognitive performance changes when prolonged sitting is broken up with physical activity breaks.

The title in Swedish is "Fysisk aktivitet, kondition, skärmtid och hälsosamma hjärnfunktioner hos skolungdomar".
