Wednesday the 18th of May at 10-12 am (link)

”Physical activity on prescription” is presenting by Lena Kallings and Amanda Lönn, both researchers at GIH. Helena Arnold, representative from Friskvårdsföretagen Almega, will also take part in the subsequent discussion. She has also studied at GIH.

The seminar is about The Physical Activity on Prescription (PAP-S, Swedish FaR). PAP-S is an evidence-based method for promoting physical activity level and health. PAP-S is a method that helps health care professionals to promote physical activity in patients to prevent and treat several diseases.

the PAP-S model is unique in its individualized strategy and that the physical activity is performed outside the healthcare services. The challenge is that the PAP-S method still needs to be implemented more broadly in Sweden and other countries.

Even though PAP-S is recommended by the Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare. Internationally and chosen as best practice by WHO, OECD and EU, The challenge is that the PAP-S method still needs to be implemented more broadly in Sweden and other countries. This will be discussed during this seminar.

This lecture will be streamed. Click here to get to the link.

Thursday the 19th of May at 9-11 am

"At your best when it counts? Or what counts when you are at your best?" is presenting by Göran Kenttä, a researcher at GIH. There are similar discussions withiin music. The musicians Kajsa Nilsson, Jerry Adbo och John Nalan, all students at The Royal College of Music, will join him. They are all standing at the doorstep for entering a world characterized by really tough competition.

Athletic performances at top level are often associated with a great deal of sacrifice. Elite athletes are often portrayed as mentally tough and invulnerable, an image that does not correspond with symptoms such as anxiety, fear or depression.

Mental health and mental illness are two sides of the same coin. Focusing on performance can imply that you loose the balance between well-being and well-performing.

Both for the active athlete and for sports leaders or coaches, it is of great importance to strengthen the ability for self-reflection and self-leadership. Methods for self-assessment, for example sleep habits and good eating habits, can help create a better balance between stress and recovery.

This lecture will not be streamed.
