Paulo Gago nailed his doctoral thesis at GIH

Bild från Paulo Gagos spikningPaulo Gago, a researcher at The Swedish School of Sport and Health Science, nailed his doctoral thesis Post activation potentiation. It provides some new scientific findings as how muscle twitch potentiation after six seconds maximal voluntary contraction depending on the speed and direction of muscle length changes and different muscle lengths in athletes.

The reason for using the word "nailing" comes from when Martin Luther nailed his 95 theses at the church door in Wittenberg. With this ceremony the thesis is now public.

Paulo Gago is from Portugal and his research is financed by the Funacao para a Ciéncia e a Technologia, FCT, and The Swedish National Center for Research in Sports.

The public defence of doctoral thesis will take place on the 2nd of February at the lecture hall at GIH. Everybody is welcome!
